RUN ,RUN, RUN - Monday 3 May 2010

second Cardiff Bay 5 will take place on May Day Bank Holiday Monday 3 May, which is reverting back to the date we always held this event in the past, formerly called the Great Welsh Run.

The 5-mile flat route takes you over the magnificent barrage, where you have fresh water on one side and salt water on the other, with the finish outside the impressive Welsh Assembly Building. This run starts at 11am

This community and social cohesion event is open to everyone, all ages and all colours. Last year's Mela in Cardiff Bay attracted more than 14,000 visitors making it the biggest event in Wales of its kind. The 2010 event is set to be bigger and better! The Mela showcases a wide diversity of cultures, music, dance, arts, fashion and food to name a few. Although the Mela's roots are Asian cultures, this is a festival for all and aims to educate, share and celebrate all cultures.

New for 2010: Get ready to be part of a special Bollywood dancing Guinness world record!

Shiver me timber!!

The Pirate Ship - August 13, 2010 – August 15, 2010

Follow Your Dreams is a National Charity that raises awareness and funds for youngsters with Down's syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Autism and all learning disabilities.

They have a large interactive Road Show that travels all over the UK, using the funds raised to sponsor youngsters with learning disabilities who wish to participate in Sport, Art, Music and Drama.

The roadshow will be visiting Mermaid Quay from 13th-15th August 2010, there will be a professional entertainer that sails in on an inflatable ‘'Pirate Ship"

complete with "Treasure Island". All of the volunteers are dressed in authentic Pirate costumes and on Friday we will be joined by children from a local Special Needs School who will come along, enjoy some fun and games and leave with a goodie bags each, filled with toys and sweets that have been donated by our supporters.

Fish & Ships! - August 28, 2010 – August 30

Celebrate the long Bank Holiday at the end of the summer in Cardiff Bay with a feast of nautical entertainment for all the family.

For the second year the festival hosts the British Fish Craft Championships which includes filleting displays, tips on preparing and cooking as well as selling the best quality fresh fish. plus the ‘Welsh Oyster Opening Championships'.
