  1. Customer Service

I have sent a lengthy e-mail about today’s event where my 13 year old daughter was upset by an extremely rude young male member of staff.. because of his own error! Shocking service and ruined our family afternoon!

  2. dangerous

Health and safety doesn’t exist . My daughter has been knocked over by hockey skaters on more than one occasion. There is rarely a steward on the ice . Apparently they don’t have to put a steward on until 70 people skating which is ridiculous

  3. Glad of IAW, but not overwhelmed

I am glad to have an arena in Cardiff, but have two issues with IAW:

    1) The change rooms are ridiculously small. Obviously the architects had no idea what kind of space hockey players actually need for their equipment! The rooms actually make the playing experience unpleasant.

    2) The ice surface is often extremely poor. I was there the other day, and it was fairly clear that the Zamboni has not been deployed for hours. At £5.50 (with my own skates) to get on the ice, I would expect much better conditions.

I can only hope that they improve these issues over time!

  4. Wrong times everywhere listed

Luckily I called ahead to check age restrictions and they said they’ve already closed, closing today at 1.30pm. The website and google says 5pm today. We checked this ages ago planning this weeend for kids birthday which is now ruined because the times are wrong. Quite a rude lady on the phone aswell. Very poor service, won’t bother going at all now

  6. Our trip to Cardiff ice rink

Went for a hockey match, had a long journey wanted a cup of tea and a sandwich. You could only buy hot food which was not very nice, they closed both the bar and the cafe once the game started so you were unable to even get a coffee. The staff were not very helpful and rude, focusing on the next game and clearing seating which a member of our party very much needed to use as was not feeling well, ended up in his car. It’s a good facility and I’m told the ice was great to play on. Think they need some customer care training.

  7. No respect for young customers

My 13 year old daughter ordered and paid for a burger in the ice rink cafe, she then had to wait 15 minutes for the person serving to remember that she’d ordered and paid . She was then given a burnt, luke warm, greasy burger. Young teenagers find it difficult and embarrassing to complain so my daughter accepted the inedible burger. She threw it in the bin and went hungry. Shame on you Cardiff ice rink.
